AGRONOMY PRODUCTION MANAGER -1 POSITION
Main role of the position is to ensure agronomy production targets regarding volume, quality and, by applying best management practices, are to meet objectives and strategies according to agreed operational Plan.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developsrealistic production plans & targets in line with the Departmental operational plan
- Pre-seasonplanning of production and budgets with close associations with the General Operations Managers ensuring operational targets are meet
- Ensures Regional Coordinators receive required inputs (Forestry only) in a timely manner in line with the production season
- Managesproject costs in line with the approved budget
- Developsa team approach with good working relationships with all subordinates and ensures disciplined approach to work
- Ensuresthe standard reporting systems are adhered to in all areas
- Ensures that all Regions within the set province comply with the standard Client Agronomy
- Makesure that every Region performs to company expectation which will include targets of yield/Ha, ǫI, Forestry, ALP and GAP
- Ensurestargets & goals by all Regions within the set province are achieved
- Ensures early warning system is in place to notify Head of Production/Operations, Agronomy Director of short falls in production levels as soon the Regional Coordinator is aware of the problem
- Participatesin achieving the necessary plans to ensure that the department meets its agreed goals and objectives, meets Head of Production and Operations on a regular basis identifies and agrees key result areas, key objectives/tasks and action plans.
- Monitorsovertime and where possible works to reduce
- Performs any specific SHE tasks or responsibilities as per appointment by SHE coordinator or managing director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BSc Degreein Agriculture or its equivalent
- Minimumof 7 years of experience in auditing system-driven processes and sustainability initiatives within the agricultural, sustainability, or tobacco industries
- Excellentin Microsoft Office, communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and training.
- Dedicationto ESG and responsible agricultural
REPORTING:
The job incumbent will be based in TABORA and will directly be reporting to HEAD OF AGRONOMY OPERATIONS.
REMUNERATIONS:
Salary offered to this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience
