Job Summary
The role of Partnership Manager – Tanzania is responsible for growing current partnerships and creating new partnerships that are revenue-generating to support the strategic objectives of Wine To Water in Tanzania. This role requires a strong leader based in Arusha with an entrepreneurial approach and proven experience in business or fund development.
The partnerships to be developed by this role include: WTW WASH program funders, travel and safari partners, and the WTW Filter Factory. Growth is expected to be fostered with additional funding partners, international NGO program collaborators, and WASH and development sector consortiums.
The Partnership Manager will report directly to the Wine To Water US< Chief Program Officer.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Strategic leadership of partnerships in line with WTW’s national and global strategy.
- Fundraising / Business development to grow the country funding programs to ensure the financial sustainability of WTW Tanzania
- Budget preparation, revenue goal setting and accountability.
- Strong and supportive leadership and management of country team members: creating and nurturing an environment that supports high performance, learning and teamwork at all levels.
- Representation and profiling: building partnerships and maintaining excellent relationships with donors, partners, local businesses, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration with other WTW countries to effectively exploit opportunities for synergy, deliver at scale (including multi-country projects), exchange knowledge and strengthen WTW’s position.
- In addition, the Partnership Manager will facilitate learning, documentation and evidence-based knowledge development in collaboration with WTW’s global team and partners; ensure collaboration with renowned knowledge institutes and networks.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Relevant Experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience at strategic level.
- Knowledge and understanding of the international development context and trends in the WASH sectors.
- Proven track record in relationship management.
- Strong business and people management capabilities with a focus on results and entrepreneurial skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong networking and positioning skills at multiple levels.
- Culturally aware, tactful and open minded.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken Swahili and English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Environment: Office and field environment; travel within Tanzania and East Africa while adhering to WTW safety requirements.
- Travel: Ability to travel to both national and international locations on behalf of WTW
- Physical: Sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; the employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, and at times may be required to lift 50+ pounds and can be exposed to indoor, outdoor temperatures and various living situations. Must be able to operate motorized vehicles with a valid license.
