WE’RE HIRING: PROCESS PLANT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Location: Singida Gold Mine
Work Schedule: 6 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off
Accommodation: Camp
Reports To: Process Plant Maintenance Superintendent
Role Overview
The PP Maintenance Supervisor coordinates plant maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and equipment availability. The role oversees servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems—especially crushing, milling, and CIL circuits. It requires strong leadership to promote safety, cost efficiency, and operational reliability, while ensuring compliance with SMCL standards and environmental regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safety & Environmental Compliance
Enforce SMCL safety and environmental procedures
Lead risk assessments and hazard reporting
Monitor PPE use and safety practices
Ensure spillage control, waste management, and safe storage
2. Team Supervision & Development
Supervise and train artisans, addressing skill gaps
Conduct toolbox meetings; maintain discipline records
Manage appraisals and foster accountability
3. Maintenance Planning & Execution
Meet availability targets via preventive/corrective maintenance
Set daily/weekly team targets
Respond to breakdowns, find root causes, and resolve
Oversee water and tailings pump system upkeep
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Production and Process teams
Communicate shutdowns, risks, and resource needs
5. Breakdown & Production Risk Management
Maintain breakdown records and escalate issues
Identify and act on production risks or escalate appropriately
6. Cost & Resource Control
Optimize use of people, tools, and materials
Propose improvements and cost-saving ideas
7. General Duties
Uphold site discipline, security, and performance
Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Trade Test Certificate (Grade I or Fitter) – Required
Mechanical Diploma or higher – Advantageous
Experience
At least 3 years in a process plant (e.g., crushing, milling, CIL)
Skilled in pump, gearbox, and mill maintenance
Computer literate
Competencies
Strong leadership and planning
Familiar with maintenance systems and reporting
