JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: PROJECT ENGINEER
As a Project Engineer, you will monitor the progress of construction projects and ensure compliance with construction safety regulations. You will supervise construction workers and subcontractors, educate construction workers on-site safety practices, and evaluate employee performance.
- Determining and developing the most suitable and economically viable construction and engineering methods for projects.
- Be present on site during the progress of the project to oversee procedures.
- Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
- Educating site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocol and enforcing site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive planning, forecasting, and budgeting systems
- Develop and maintain streamlined and comprehensive planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Work closely with senior management to develop strategic plans for growth and to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the project operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization
- Track staffing requirements and communicate with Human Resources department for hiring new employees as needed and Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance
- Preparation of Equipment deployment chart as applicable for the Project.
- Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
- Analysing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
- Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
- Develop technical solutions and strategies in project management, construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
- Ensure accuracy and accountability in coding, editing, and writing reports, letters, and memos
- Attend conferences and trade shows to broaden professional knowledge and network
- Maintain hardware and software inventories
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications:
- A degree in engineering (civil or Structure)
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with tools like MS Project or Primavera.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
Experience
- Minimum 5 – 10years experience in supervision of buildings construction for medium to large scale construction is mandatory.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in construction activities incorporating vertical structures is desirable.
- Experience in contract management is an asset.
- Experience working in Construction Company is Mandatory
- Registration with the relevant professional body is required.
