Council Project Coordinator (3 Positions)
    • Project Title: Building Rights for Improved Girl’s Health in Tanzania (BRIGHT)
    • Location: Tabora (Igunga, Kaliua, Urambo)
    • Department: Programs
    • Reports To: Project Officer
    • Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:
The Council Project Coordinator will act as the vital link between TAWLA and local government authorities in Tabora, ensuring seamless execution of the BRIGHT project at the council level. This role is key to driving collaboration, compliance, and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the main liaison with council departments (health, education, social welfare).
    • Support BRIGHT project activities, ensuring alignment with work plans and policies.
    • Organize meetings, workshops, and events with council officials and stakeholders.
    • Mobilize resources and secure council approvals for project initiatives.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community workers to deliver ASRH and nutrition services.
    • Advocate for ASRH and nutrition priorities among council and community leaders.
    • Ensure compliance with council regulations and ethical guidelines.
    • Prepare weekly reports and maintain accurate records of interactions and approvals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Planning, Management, Community Development, Law, or related fields.
    • 2-3 years of experience in GBV and sexual reproductive rights projects.
    • Strong leadership, team-building, and advocacy skills.
    • Experience in policy advocacy for nutrition or public health programs.
    • Knowledge of international quality standards for produce export is a plus.
    • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
    • No prior convictions for violation of children’s rights.

Project Officer (1 Position)

Job Overview:
The Project Officer will oversee the daily implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the BRIGHT project in Tabora. This leadership role ensures effective service delivery and collaboration with stakeholders to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day BRIGHT project activities, adhering to timelines and budgets.
    • Supervise Council Project Coordinators and manage project resources efficiently.
    • Collaborate with partners, government agencies, and local stakeholders.
    • Train community leaders, healthcare providers, and others on human rights and GBV issues.
    • Conduct field visits to monitor progress and address challenges.
    • Lead community mobilization to boost awareness and service uptake.
    • Collect and analyze project data for reporting purposes.
    • Prepare weekly reports and maintain detailed records.

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
    • Current practicing license with the Bar Association.
    • 5 years of experience in GBV and sexual reproductive rights projects.
    • Proven leadership, team-building, and operational management skills.
    • Experience advocating for policy changes in nutrition or public health.
    • Knowledge of international quality standards for produce export is an advantage.
    • Excellent English communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
