In this recruitment drive, MSF is looking to fill two important full-time positions: Purchasing Officer and Base and Facilities Officer. Job Vacancies Overview
1. Purchasing Officer – Liwale, Lindi
Main Purpose: As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day purchasing activities within the supply office, adhering to MSF’s high standards and protocols. You will ensure the optimal running of the mission/project by analyzing market sources, negotiating competitive prices, and managing the procurement of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform purchasing activities and market analysis to guarantee cost-effective procurement.
- Ensure all procurement procedures are in line with MSF standards and policies.
- Maintain updated supplier-item-price data and inform supervisors of any changes.
- Manage invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders with precision.
- Assist in reception control processes alongside the storekeeper.
Requirements:
- Education: Essential secondary education (commerce-related studies are desirable).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in supply chain-related roles.
- Skills: Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and logistics software).
- Languages: Fluent in both oral and written English and Swahili.

2. Base and Facilities Officer – Liwale, Lindi
Main Purpose: The Base and Facilities Officer will oversee maintenance logistics for MSF’s facilities in the Liwale base, ensuring that infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment are in optimal working condition. This role involves managing logistical operations such as vehicle tracking, facilities maintenance, and supplies monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and track vehicle movements and fuel consumption.
- Oversee maintenance of MSF premises, ensuring that facilities are in good condition.
- Manage and inspect domestic waste disposal, electrical systems, plumbing, and cold-chain equipment.
- Supervise security measures and maintain the quality of work for electrical and generator systems.
- Participate in staff training and provide support to the logistics team.
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary education; additional technical qualifications in maintenance (plumbing, electricity, construction) are an advantage.
- Experience: Prior experience in NGO operations is desirable.
- Skills: Computer literacy is essential.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
