Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings.
- Work in a team to provide maintenance support to the process plant and mine.
- Provide maintenance support for process equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, grinding mills, gravity concentrators, hydro cyclones, flotation cells and pressure filters to maintain optimum performance.
- Monitoring equipment condition and escalating issues to prevent further deterioration.
- Carry out routine maintenance, e.g. greasing/lubrication.
- Carry out repairs and/or modifications to the plant components, including potential small fabrication work. Install, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment’s in safe and reliable condition
- Service various equipment’s machines for infrastructure facilities and Examining bearings.
- Assembling and fittings of various plant equipment’s (pumps, valves and pipes) to improve plant/mine site infrastructure performance.
- Perform scheduled inspections on pumps and Plant/ mine site infrastructure systems
- Performs required maintenance works on pumps and pipe works
- Learn, understand and follow Health, Safety and Security Policies and Procedures
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Trade’s qualified as Fitter (FTC, IMMT&VETA)
- Computer Literate – Proficiency in Micro Office products / Basic Computer Skills
- Valid driving license
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 -5 years’ Experience in Fitter role in Mining Industry
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication in English, both writing and verbal
- Hazard identification and Risk assessment
- Mine health &Safety Act awareness
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum or zero supervision
- Demonstrate Leadership and good teamwork.
- Must be able to solve problems.
- Ability to Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals and make technical drawings

Reporting to: Mining Foreman
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Plan and organize resources, people and equipment to ensure the execution of the mining schedule
- Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks(5 point)
- Identify recurring problems and derive solutions involving team members.
- Recognize and reward team member efforts
- Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situation
- Interpret the approved operational plans. Determine how resources and processes must be utilised / applied to achieve objectives
- Conduct meetings with Miners and report on previous shift status. Identify constraints and compare planned development and production against actual.
- Identify own priorities including PTO’s (Plan Task Observations), leadership interactions, heading inspections and communicate constraints to relevant stakeholders
- Plan, coordinate and control the load and haul process
- Must be able to be adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ordinary level certificate – Form IV and above level
- Blasting Certificate
- Valid driving license
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years Drill and Blast experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Supervisory role
- At least 2 years Load and Haul operations experience as a Miner
- At least 2 years construction experience as a Miner
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication in English, both writing and verbal
- Hazard identification and Risk assessment
- Mine health &Safety Act awareness
