SolidarMed is a Swiss non-profit organization that improves healthcare for communities in rural Africa. Founded in 1926, the organization partners with local hospitals, health centers, and authorities to strengthen existing medical services and build local capacity.

Focus areas
The organization's work is centered on five thematic areas:
Maternal, child, and newborn health: Reduces mortality rates for mothers and babies through trained staff, improved infrastructure, and community health education.
Combating diseases: Focuses on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases like malaria and tuberculosis, as well as non-communicable diseases like diabetes and HIV/AIDS.
Medical infrastructure: Invests in critical infrastructure, such as water and electricity supplies, to ensure that health facilities can function reliably.
Health worker training: Provides basic and continuing professional training for medical staff, including nurses and community health workers, especially in remote areas.
Innovation and research: Conducts scientific studies to evaluate programs and develop effective solutions that can be shared with health authorities and international organizations.
