Reports to: Chef Supervisor/Manager
Location: Fabec Investment Limited-Geita

Fabec Investment Limited, a company specializing in road construction, building construction, and telecommunications, is seeking a Chef/Cook with excellent culinary skills to manage  kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare a variety of meals with quality standards according to schedules and hygiene standards.
  2. Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and minimize food waste.
  1. Maintain high levels of cleanliness in all kitchen areas and sanitar
  2. Be key personnel with 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
  3. Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  4. Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period including water and plates served.
  5. Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  6. Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying,or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
  7. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  8. Handles, stores and rotates all products properly with good record keeping.
  9. Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  10. Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
  11. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or manageron

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably in a corporate or institutional setting.
  • Proficiency in preparing a variety of dishes (traditional and modern).
  • Ability to plan efficient meal schedules.
  • Possession of a certificate in culinary arts from a recognized institution (an added advantage).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
