Head of Treasury and Investment Job Description
Organization Overview
Our Client is a private sector financial institution supporting banks with refinancing and pre-financing banks’ mortgage portfolios. It aims to rapidly increase its financial capacity in investment, fundraising activities, and research. Hence, our Client is looking for a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill in the Head of Treasury and Investment role. The role holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement Treasury and Investment strategies aligned with organizational goals, manage cash flow, liquidity, and investment portfolios, and foster relationships with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders to support fundraising and investment activities.
Investment & Capital Management
- Evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial analysis, and assess risk-return profiles to make informed investment decisions.
- Monitor and manage the organization’s investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with investment policies and objectives.
- Lead fundraising initiatives to secure capital and financing for projects, including debt and equity financing, grants, and other funding sources.
- Offer strategic advice to senior management and the Board of Directors on investment, research, and fundraising matters.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in Treasury, investment management, and fundraising.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders on treasury, investment, and fundraising activities, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Prepare Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) reports and serve as the Committee’s secretary.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across all treasury, investment, and fundraising activities.
People Management
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals responsible for treasury and investment activities, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence by encouraging open communication, creative problem-solving, and a commitment to high performance.
- Empower the team to continuously improve their skills, share knowledge, and work together to achieve the organization’s financial goals.
Academic/Professional Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field from a recognized university.
- A master’s degree in finance / specialization in climate finance would be an added value.
- A master’s degree in science or engineering would be a strong added value.
Experience & Skills Requirement
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant work experience in fundraising, investment portfolio management, financial analysis, risk management, and understanding of capital markets. Conducting market analysis and leading research initiatives will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience managing teams.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
