Job Opportunities Announcement by Tanzania Prisons Service
The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Prisons Service announces job opportunities (Nafasi za kazi Jeshi la Magereza) for Tanzanian youth with Form IV education and skills in various fields at diploma and degree levels, as specified in this announcement. All applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicant Qualifications
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Must possess a National Identification Number or Citizenship ID from the National Identification Authority (NIDA).
- Must not have been previously employed by the government.
- Must be aged 18–24 for Form IV graduates and 18–28 for those with specialized skills.
- Must have a birth certificate.
- Must have a minimum height of 5’4″ for women and 5’7″ for men.
- Must be in good physical and mental health, certified by a government doctor.
- Must not be married or have given birth.
- Must not have any tattoos or markings on their body.
- Must have discipline and good character, with no criminal convictions or imprisonment.
- Must be willing to attend initial prison officer training and work anywhere in mainland Tanzania.
- Must be prepared to personally cover costs during all initial stages of the recruitment process until reporting for training.

- Diploma in Office Machine.
- Diploma అందం Sign Language.
- Diploma in Nursing.
- Diploma in Agro-mechanization.
- Diploma in Agriculture.
- Diploma in Animal Health and Production.
- Certificate in Secretarial.
Application Process
- All applications must be submitted through the Tanzania Prisons Service Recruitment Management System (TPSRMS) via the link provided on the Prisons Service website: https://ajira.magereza.go.tz.
- Applications submitted through other means will not be accepted.
Important Notes
- Applicants previously dismissed from initial prison officer training courses are not allowed to reapply.
- Any applicant submitting forged documents or concealing their true educational qualifications will have committed a criminal offense and will face strict legal action.
- The deadline for receiving applications is August 29, 2025.
