Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania – ASUTA is working in partnership with FHI 360 on Epidemic Control (EpiC) which is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control.  It is led by FHI 360 as prime and has a five-year period of performance from April 15, 2019 to September,30th, 2025.

 ASUTA offer the following open vacancy for interested candidate;

  1. Job Title: Community Engagement Officer (CEO) – DAR ES SALAAM

As a Community Engagement Officer, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.

  • Supervising and managing all peers (educators, mobilizers, navigators), by making sure community activities are well planned and implemented to facilitate Comprehensive HIV service provision (HTS, PrEP, HIVST, TB, GBV and Family planning)
  • Supervision of HTS service including mobile testing, self-testing and index testing to reach key population
  • Supporting AGYW/FSW/MSM Peer (Educators mobilizers, navigators) to roll out SBCC Training among AGYW/FSW/MSM in respective community
  • Supporting Peer (educators, mobilizers, navigators) during Community works including demand creation, group education, individual education, outreach services for bot moonlight and mobile testing and client’s referrals and linkages
  • Supervising and supporting formation of PrEP groups in the project by making sure groups are managed by the team members for sustainability in working area.
  • Supervising and monitoring community activities includes SBCC activities to ensure Peer (educators, mobilizers, navigators) have all required tools etc.
  • Work in collaborative with LGAs in managing community engagement portfolio
  • Coordinate and support the Peers (educators, mobilizers, navigators) to implement and monitor the timely implementation of comprehensive HIV services and provision of friendly services to all KVP clients
  • Manage peer educators and peer navigator to ensure proper planning and implementation of community engagement related activities like demand creation, group, and individual education sessions
  • Support PEs to ensure that vulnerability index tool administered and filed for all AGYW enrolled in the project.
  • Support establishment of case management team in conjunction with health facility
  • Work with project and district officials to facilitate community engagement trainings to, peer educators and navigators and other relevant training required
  • Support integration of HTS with other biomedical and behavioral intervention to key population

B: Networking

  • Establish effective work relationship with other stakeholders and CHMT partners on program activities
  • Work with Peers (educators, mobilizers, navigators) to identify and link KVP clients to other implementing partners for psychosocial support.

Job Description:

 

As a Case Manager, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner

Managing and executing Enhanced Linkage case management to meet the target of 95% enrolment in care and treatment services.”

  • Implement and oversee effective tracking and retention strategies to achieve adherence rate among clients on ART.
  • Provide technical support to Peer Navigators to reduce quarterly net loss by 95% and document best practices.
  • Work with peer navigators, healthcare workers, and facility partners to ensure 100% biometric registration coverage among all clients receiving care and treatment.
  • Collaborate with facility partners to achieve a 95% linkage to care rate for newly diagnosed clients in both community and facility.
  • Work closely and support healthcare providers in delivering ART adherence counseling and enhanced counseling for PLHIV with high viral load.
  • Mentor and support peer navigators and community-based health care workers in linking PLHIV diagnosed in the community to care and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Provide intensive adherence support to patients with Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) to improve treatment outcomes.
  • Assist healthcare providers and Peer navigators in early identification of missed appointments.
  • Conduct close follow-up on tracked missing clients who have promised to return to care.
  • Promote the use of national follow-up tools and ensure their proper documentation.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Peer navigators, healthcare workers, and other IPs to share challenges and develop improvement strategies.
  • Responsible for identifying, enrolling, and supporting clients in Community ART, optimizing adherence for clients in Community ART.
  • Daily follow-up on case management by the team, from each service delivery point in close relationship with the Biomedical field officer
  • Reconcile and compile data into the regional tracking register and the regional partner listing and outcome register, and maintain it weekly
  • Conduct sites visits for at least 70% of the time
  • Working with the data manager/M&E Officer to report tracking and partner listing and outcome data to the MER team in the region using referrals from stubs
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports related to tracking services and partner notification and success stories, as needed
  • Participate in meetings at the CSO level and related CHMT meetings
  • Document best practices for linkage for KVP
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager

 

Introduction

Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania – ASUTA working in partnership with JHPIEGO) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to conduct the USAID AfyaYangu (Mama na Mtoto) ReproductiveMaternal Newborn- Child and Adolescent Health (Afya Yangu- RMNCAH) a Five-Year Project (2022-2027) aimed to increase the demand for and use of quality integrated RMNCAH services in the target regions, particularly by women and youth. The project is implemented in 11 regions of Tanzania’ mainland and Zanzibar.

 

  1. Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Program Officer

– Tanganyika District, Katavi Region

As a Program Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner in Tanganyika District, Katavi Region.

  1. Build capacity and work as a linkage between SBCC and ASRH in developing the quality of data and progress of SBCC and ASRH program activities.
  2. Conducting Interviews to primary beneficiaries of ASRH program and SBCC programs and collect success stories reflecting the achievements of RMNCAH program, collecting the signed consent forms records and documents the events for program use.
  3. Participate in 5 days monthly integrated supportive supervision with CHMTs to CHWs, GMs & YHC implementing integrated RMNCAH community level activities, evaluate the quality of the program conducted, identify gaps and trouble shoot the challenges.
  4. Preparing and submit the data collected from RMNCAH activities, evaluating the APS and recommend the best way of improvements for identified possible gaps affecting the performance.
  5. Collecting, verifying and sharing data and report the target reached, identifying gaps and recommend the best way for program quality improvements every months within program year.
  6. To conduct 1 day Community Scorecard meetings in villages with poor-performing RMNCAH indicators. (Integrated with SBCC)
  7. To Conduct 1 day bi-annual Community Scorecard action plan follow-up meetings in villages with poor-performing RMNCAH indicators in Mlele DC. (Integrated with SBCC)
  8. Conduct 5 days quarterly integrated supportive supervision with RHMTs to CHWs, GMs & YHCs implementing integrated RMNCAH community level activities, across Tanganyika DC. (Integrated with ASRH)
  9. Collecting M&E tools from GMs/YHCs (and any other team issued within SRH department by USAID RMNCAH Afya Yangu (Mama na Mtoto) project,) verify and fill in the data into respected directed system and provide feedback for further review and progress.
  10. Conduct bi-annual data quality assessment and data management mentorship to Tanganyika DC to strengthen their capacity on data documentation, monitoring and reporting of community-based intervention. (Integrated with ASRH and SBCC data reviews)
  11. Conducting closely communication with all RCH and other HCPs in all HCF operating within Tanganyika DC to ensure and monitor the information and data fillings within MTUHA registry books as per the category referrals provided to the clients.
  12. Visiting in health facilities and monitor the referrals and data collected from CHWs if they are being filled in the registry books, receiving feedback from RCHs and HCPs regarding the implementation of RMNCAH activities and troubleshoot the challenges together as a team.
  13. Conducting all related RMNCAH provided by the program manager as per the needs arise.

 

  1. Job Title: SBCC Program Officer – Mlele District, Katavi Region

As a Social Behavior Change Communication Officer, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.

  1. Participate in the 3-days training on parenting and caregiving package so they can cascade the training to CHW/Vs who will be conducting IPC sessions in the community levels, conducting the pre and post – test and create a mechanism of capacity building after the training.
  2. Ensuring the distribution of SBC materials at the community and health facilities within the respective council through supportive supervisions, monthly meeting, leverage and all program activities and record the deliverables for further documentations.
  3. Conduct 3 days training to 12 CHWs & 3 CHW Supervisors on parenting and care giving package in Tanganyika DC
  4. Conducting close communication with CHWs who conduct community level SBC activities (House Holds visit & small group discussion dialogues) targeting pregnant women, parents & caretakers of under-five and their partners to influence positive health seeking behaviors to follow up the execution of deliverable as per the IR expected.
  5. Conduct 1 day advocacy meetings with key ward stakeholders (Ward Councilors, WEOs, VEOs, Religious Leaders, Village chairmen, Hamlet chairpersons & CHWs) around selected poor performing HFs in Tanganyika DC.
  6. Conduct 5 days monthly integrated supportive supervision with CHMTs to CHWs, GMs & YHC implementing integrated RMNCAH community level activities across Tanganyika DC. (Integrated with ASRH)
  7. Conduct 5 days quarterly integrated supportive supervision with RHMTs to CHWs, GMs & YHCs implementing integrated RMNCAH community level activities, across Tanganyika DC. (Integrated with ASRH)
  8. Submitting SBCC narrative program report, monthly to program coordinator before the end of the specified month.
  9. Conducting closely communication and support CHWs to conduct sessions (As per the indicated given targets) on gender transformative topics and GBV prevention to primary beneficiaries of G &RC program using community couple gender dialogue approach in Tanganyika DC.
  10. To conduct 1 day Community Scorecard meetings in villages with poor-performing RMNCAH indicators. Conducting all related RMNCAH provided by the program manager as per the needs arise.
  11. Conduct bi-annual data quality assessment and data management mentorship to Tanganyika DC to strengthen their capacity on data documentation, monitoring and reporting of community-based intervention DC to strengthen their capacity on data documentation, monitoring and reporting of community-based intervention
