JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (On Behalf of the Employer)

Position: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TEACHER (5 POSITIONS)

Duty Station: Dar es Salaam

Reports to: Head Master/mistress 

Contract Type: Full-time, 12 months renewable

Start Date: As soon as possible

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive early childhood lessons for children aged 3–5, aligned with the Tanzanian pre-primary curriculum.
  • Design and implement daily lesson plans focusing on literacy, numeracy, language development, life skills, and creative arts through play-based learning.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that supports holistic development — social, emotional, cognitive, and physical.
  • Use storytelling, songs, games, visual aids, and hands-on activities to support engagement and effective learning.
  • Assess and document children’s progress, developmental milestones, and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians.
  • Support learners with different abilities through differentiated instruction and individual learning plans.
  • Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and the school leadership to ensure continuity of learning and support.
  • Participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and parent meetings to strengthen the school–community relationship.
  • Uphold classroom management, safeguarding, professional ethics, and compliance with Tanzanian education laws and school policies.

C. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, or a related field (teacher registration preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching nursery or pre-primary learners with knowledge of the Tanzanian curriculum.
  • Understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
  • Experience designing safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments using play-based approaches.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Swahili, high integrity, patience, and a passion for early childhood education.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and school leadership to support children’s learning and well-being.
