About the Role
Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the People & Culture Department in Dar es Salaam. Reporting to the People & Culture Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, and maintaining compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
This role requires exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in payroll systems, and a strong sense of confidentiality, integrity, and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Payroll Processing
- Execute complete payroll processing cycles, ensuring accuracy in final payroll runs.
- Manage all payroll activities including onboarding and processing of new hires, terminations, retirements, resignations, and employee deaths.
2. Accuracy in Payroll Management
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records of employee salaries and benefits.
- Ensure accurate deductions and contributions for provident funds, medical aids, and other benefits.
- Reconcile net pay and verify the completeness and correctness of all payroll inputs.
3. Collaboration with People & Culture
- Work closely with the People & Culture team to manage employee remuneration, benefits, and organizational changes.
- Ensure timely entry and authorization of employee changes, maintaining strict document control standards.
4. Reporting and Documentation
- Generate, review, and analyze payroll reports for process accuracy and compliance.
- Produce payslips, employee tax certificates, and other payroll documentation as required.
- Maintain organized administrative and filing systems for payroll-related records.
5. Timely Query Resolution
- Address payroll-related queries promptly and accurately within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with People & Culture transactional services to ensure excellent internal customer support.
6. Administrative Support and Record Management
- Manage payroll filing, scanning, and record-keeping for compliance and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with the Group Office on Compensation and Benefits matters.
Skills, Experience, and Education
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ hands-on experience in payroll administration.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, bookkeeping, accounting practices, and tax legislation.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines under pressure.
- Attention to detail, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
