Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join the team in the Transmission Zero Project, a global research initiative developing innovative genetic biocontrol tools to stop malaria transmission in Africa.

The role will be based in Bagamoyo and requires strong expertise in molecular biology and vector biology, with proven leadership in managing molecular and entomological activities. The Senior Research Scientist will oversee and integrate molecular and vector biology workflows, ensuring quality, biosafety, capacity building, and impactful contributions to malaria control and elimination efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Entomology, or a related field with a proven record of scientific publications and ability to present findings at conferences and scientific meetings.
